Waking Up from Dreamland

Well, it's officially been six months since the release of Dreamland.

It feels strange to say that Dreamland has been out for six months. But it has. Now it will exist forever. That’s one of the things I love about recordings. They last for a lifetime. Fifty years from now we will still able to pull up the album and listen to it.

From an artist’s standpoint whenever I release an album it is almost like giving away a prized personal possession, or a family heirloom. It used to be mine, but now it’s yours. Once the album is out there, it no longer belongs to just me. And I love that.

Now that Dreamland is out in the world, I feel driven to get back on the road and play as many shows as I can to spread this music to others. The creation of the album has spurred me to get back out there, and play for crowds again.

Music Update:

A couple weeks ago I got to join the stage with some old friends The Honey Hounds and the Ries Brothers who are two incredible bands from Florida. We played at Flamingo Cantina which is an awesome venue on 6th Street here in downtown Austin. Here are some pics from the show! It was an awesome time.

It feels incredible to be getting back on the stage. I did not realize how much I missed playing for live audiences. But when all of sudden you’re in the green room, awaiting to go out on stage to a crowd of people, you remember why you got into music in the first place. To do this!

We met some incredible people at these shows. Many came up to us after our set and asked where they could listen to the music.

A few days later I got messages from people at the show saying how Dreamland has now become their favorite album on Spotify. This has been an overwhelming experience for me. It’s all any artist could ever dream of.

Speaking of Dreamland, here are some interesting updates for you!

Dreamland Stats:

First, Dreamland has passed over 10,000 streams on all streaming services! Again, I’m overwhelmed by that number.

What’s amazing is that I have done very little promotion or advertisement of the album. That means it has been organic growth (you) that has propelled this album's stream count. Everyday when I log in to view my analytics my heart beams with pride. The album is taking on a life of its own, and it brings nothing but joy.

Here is a breakdown of the top songs so far:

It’s cool to see which songs end up being people’s favorites. Again, that’s why I love making albums. They take on a life of their own.

From the bottom of my heart, I want to say thank you so much for listening to Dreamland. It took hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars to create. I’m so happy you’ve enjoyed listening to it. It is the greatest reward to share it with you.

Personal Update:

On the personal front, things have been busy. Over the last six months I’ve been on planes, trains and automobiles traveling the country working, visiting friends and of course playing music.

Now that the pandemic is behind us (for the most part), I’m enjoying reconnecting with those whom I haven’t seen in a few years. It has led to new memories, and inspired a whole collection of new songs. Yep, that’s right! My songwriting notebooks are filling up rapidly with new music. More albums are on the way.

I’m also starting to play a lot more shows - both ticketed shows, and private events. So if you need anyone to play for an upcoming holiday party, or event just let me know! I’m happy to help!

In Closing:

I’ve been overwhelmed by the support you’ve shown me over the last six months. Dreamland is off to a roaring start, and it is the beginning of many great things to come!

Thank you always for supporting independent music. I look forward to sharing more new music with you soon.

Be well,

Roman
